The Kindred Life Podcast Ep. 35: Choosing to Turn Towards Each Other with Courtney Bareman

We want close and meaningful relationships with our spouse and children, but how do we intentionally pursue them in the midst of everyday life? And how about taking time for personal growth when we’re juggling so many other things?

You’re going to love this vulnerable conversation with my friend, Courtney Bareman! Courtney is a mother of four (from toddler to teenager) and certified Enneagram coach, and she has worked in ministry with her husband, Derek, for 20+ years. When we first met through our local church, her authenticity and fun personality drew me in from day one.

In this episode, Courtney teaches us about the “third way” of living, “kairos” moments, and why counseling and “deep work” are healthy things for all of us to pursue. She also shares solid examples of ways we can turn towards our spouse and kids in the middle of the fulness and messiness of daily life.

Some of the things we chat about:

  • Touchpoints that foster connection with our spouse and children

  • Why we should normalize counseling

  • Tools for being clear but kind in communication

  • Using the Enneagram as a tool for personal & spiritual growth

  • Staying open to moments when God is trying to get our attention

LISTEN IN, and be inspired and equipped to cultivate meaningful connections with the important people in your life!
